RB333 - Extreme Ping Times

I am experiencing triple digit pings on 2 sectors that I have upgraded to 3.2. All clients are now 3.2.

Anyone experience this problem?? It is on a SR9 card. I use 2 cards in my AP. THe Sr5 card has alittle over 20 clients and the SR9 has a little over 30 clients. PING IS ONLY HIGH ON SR9. Ping is VERY high when client transmits data. If I turn off about half the clients on the SR9 side the pings are fine when moving data. Not sure what to do.

dropping the hardware retries to 7 helped a helluvalot on my SR9 link. I don’t remember if I tried 4, but that’s what I’m using now on XR9’s.

I did not have any clients, just a P2P WDS link with poor signal. What is your signal range and noise floor?

Noise floor reported by SR9 is -100 signal range is -59 to -77 on the weakest link.

I don’t know if you see this, but even with the matching ROS, I’m using 3.2 on the AP and CPE’s, I seem to get very High CCQ on the RX, but CCQ on the client TX side is always 30-60% very rarely 80’s-100.

Anyone else experence this? I think that PTMP is much different than PTP with sr9’s.

900MHz has a large fresnel zone, may be reflections out of phase… hope not, I’m set up for a few 900MHz AP’s going up next week.

I do wonder if the diversity chip took a hit…

Not the diversity… I have changed out the cards just in case.

next thought is noise at the AP. Might be time to try a UB filter.

I’m hoping to avoid them, but in this area I know I have noise below and above, so I’ll have to get something in the air before I know which filter to use in which area.

Already using DCI filters with 5.5mhz channel width.
