RB333 with XR2 and XR5 has been running fine for a month, and all of sudden it locked up. 4 clients (2 RB133/XR2 and 2 NS2) are not able to access Internet. And I cannot access the RB333, I had to completely power down and up. Then it came backup for about 10 minutes or so and it went dead again. After power recycling, I tried “sup-output”, and noticed the CPU jump to 100%, few seconds later, got locked out again and had to power recycle again.
The unit is mounted at 100feet tower with outside temperature of 91 to 98 degree. Is it the overheating problem? How do I diagnose what’s causing this problem?
I upgraded to v2.6 without changing the frequency just to see what happens. And it lasted 3 days before lockup. Now I’ve slowed the frequency to 266MHz.
/ system routerboard settings change-frequency frequency=266MHz
(power cycle)
I had a 333 running as wan router. All of a sudden today we had problems with throughput and packetloss and found out that the 333 even with no CPU consumption and 100/100 Ethernet links wouldnt route more than 1-2 Mbit/s. It has been running for 7-8 months. Tried to change PSU and that helped for about 60 seconds then it went back to being a linksys router.. Anyone seen this before? I replaced it with a 433AH and same config and now it routes perfectly again.
I did bandwith tests on all connected interfaces and i was only able to push 1-2 Mbit UDP. TCP could almost not run.
