I have an RB333 with 3x Wireless cards running. It lives in a Sealed Polycarbonate Box on a roof.
My issue is, over the last few days (reaching 35 - 40o here) the router board has been randomly rebooting.
Can the routerboard be damaged from heat or does it have some form of protection?
What forms of cooling solutions do people use? i’m thinking of placing something over the box to take away direct sun light, and placing a fan off the fan headers to move some air around in side the box.
We used to use the plastic dryer vent covers from Lowes, (not the one with the hose, just the plastic cover)
The will get brittle after a couple of years and have had hail crack them.
More recently, we’ve cut a small piece of sheet metal and some stips of wood for spacers on three sides, then siliconed the assembly to cover the fan holes.. I usually put the fan at the top as an exhaust and some small holes in the bottom for air intake.
