I have setup my RouterBoard 333 with OS 3.6
Everything is working great
I purchased a Atheros AR5212 wireless card and RB33 recognizes it
I then set it up with
/interface wireless set wlan1 ssid=test frequency=2442 band=2.4ghz-b/g mode=ap-bridge disabled=no
I boot up my laptop and it cannot see the wireless on the RB333??? What am I doing wrong.
Is there anything else that needs to be set before the wireless card can be seen. Laptop works great on other wireless so I know its not the laptop.

The only thing that comes to mind right away is make sure that ‘hide ssid’ in un-checked. This is on the second tab (winbox) under the wireless interface wlan1 in your case.
You could also try putting the card in a differnt slot…though you did say it is reconized and is enabled…
Only thing else is the antenna and how far away are you? I am actually assuming you are sitting right there with the AP…

It was the antenna. I thought the Card had a range of at least 25 feet. Turns out it has 3-5 feet range without an Antenna. Went back online and ordered an antenna. I wish there was a manual with the air cards saying the range and that you should buy an antenna.
My laptop was in another room with me when I was setting it up. At least 15-20 feet away.
I am a complete novice at wireless so I feel really ignorant now. Thankyou for your help and your reply.
I really love the RB333 its a great board.
