I’m curious does anybody know is there a WiFi6 mPCI card out there which is actually compatible with RouterOS7 that can maybe replace the stock one in the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN to upgrade it from ac to ax? From my understanding the hardware should be powerful enough to drive WiFi6 but I assume there are not many mPCI ax cards out there. The QCA6174A chipset should be fine I guess but I assume you can’t get a mPCI card with that chipset.
In addition to that is maybe something planed by MikroTik itself?
I would really hate to throw my trusty Router out for a new one since the hardware, is at least for me and I assume most people, still up to the task except for ax WiFi.
I would like to do this as well. Haven’t researched it much as I thought all the Wi-Fi 6 Mikrotik hardware was using chipsets that were part of an SOC only.
From my research it seems that the mPCI R11E is not compatible with WifiWave2 and that’s why it’s not showing up.
However even if I might not have WiFi6 afterwards is there maybe a WifiWave2 compatible mPCI card out there that can be used in RB4011?
From my research WLE1216V2-20 QCA9984 should be compatible but this is a 4x4 card and maybe WLE650V5-25 QCA9888 but this card is 5Ghz only which in this case won’t have much benefit…?
