Hi
Please excuse my ignorance / lack of knowledge here - I am hoping someone will be sympathetic and explain why this is or isn’t possible.
I have a GPON modem from my broadband provider connected to my RB4011 which runs a PPPoE client to connect to my broadband. The GPON modem is just in pass-through or bridge mode or something, so that I can use my Mikrotik as my home router.
I would obviously prefer that the ISP provided device wasn’t there, as there is a fiber port on my Mikrotik.
The fiber cable in my apartment is a simplex cable (not sure if this is a “must” for GPON networks or not).
Is it possible to get a fiber transceiver or so for my Mikrotik that I can just plug the fiber cable straight into and have the PPPoE connect as “normal”, or is this just not possible with GPON networks?
Again - sorry for what is likely a dumb-ass question, and thank you for your patience ![]()
