I read too late about this issue with the RB4011, management access locking up at random times. By too late, I mean after I had bought mine and put it into service. Since there seems to be a complete mystery about the underlying cause, I just hoped I’d got lucky as mine has been running since October. However yesterday it hit me, no management access via Winbox, web, SSH or telnet. SNMP continued to work. As others have found the only resolution was to power cycle.
Has there been any update on this issue? Currently running v6.47.4 ROS and firmware.
Thanks. However post 198 in that thread someone reports the same issue with v6.47.8 in Jan 2021. Only one instance. But then I’ve only had one instance (so far). I guess upgrading ROS is a sensible issue in any case.
That was my post quoted above. I can say that with all the RB1100AHx4 routers we have deployed (same architecture as 4011), we were seeing lockups every one to two weeks. After 6.47.8 was released at the end of November, and we upgraded, we haven’t had a single lockup. Running 6.47.8 and now 6.47.9, the routers have never been more stable (I hope I haven’t just jinxed us!)
Yes sorry it was post 194 I can’t think why I got the number wrong. Anyway in Jan 2021 that post reported lock up with 6.47.8
We’ve got two sites with a RB4011iGS+ (arm) running on 6.47.2 and 6.47.8. Only happened once for each of the router and so far, hard reboot restores it back
However following your lead I’ve updated mine to 6.47.9 Long Term, and updated firmware as well. Fingers crossed.
