I have a problem with the RB4011, firmware 7.8 stable, the eth1 does not connect in any way to 2.5Gbps but exclusively to 1Gbps.
I also tried setting the speed to only 2.5G, 5G and 10G but I always see “no link”.
Using instead in a notebook connected directly to the ZTE GPON the connection works at 2.5Gbps without problems
what causes this problem on the RB4011?
the same problem also occurs on the eth2 between RB4011 and notebook the link is always and only at 1Gbps.
the configuration of the RB is the default, with the addition of the VLAN and PPPoE-Client; Do I have to configure something else to recognize connections higher than 1Gbps?
I also tried the SFP+ port with a generic “10Gb SFP+ RJ45 Transceiver” compatible module and with another ubiquiti module but in both cases the link only works at 1Gbps
I would like to order the “S+RJ10” module if that solves the problem
I had tried the Ubiquiti UACC-CM-RJ45-MG, the 6COM 6C-SFP-10G-T I had tried it and in fact it didn’t work at 2.5Gbps
I also have a 10Gtek ASF-10G2-T and HiFiber ASF-10G-T to try as well
It is possible that the RB4011’s firmware or hardware is limiting the maximum speed of the Ethernet ports to 1Gbps. This could be due to various reasons such as a hardware limitation, a firmware bug or a misconfiguration.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the RB4011’s datasheet and manual to confirm the maximum speed supported by its Ethernet ports.
Check the Ethernet cable and make sure it is a Cat5e or Cat6 cable capable of supporting 2.5Gbps.
Try connecting the RB4011 to a different device that supports 2.5Gbps and see if the link speed improves.
Try upgrading the firmware of the RB4011 to the latest version to see if it resolves the issue.
Check the RB4011’s configuration to make sure the Ethernet ports are configured correctly and are not limited to 1Gbps.
