RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN just connected behind an ISP FTTH router equipped with AX wifi
While with ISP router I can reach 700+ Mbps WiFi speed , with RB4011 WiFi I can reach just 350Mbps
Does AX vs AC justify this speed difference ??
4011 wireless interface is configured in 20/40/80 XXXX and it just sits on the 5150-5250 non-DFS window , as ALL other settings (frequencies) end into “radar detect” issue, so no way to set 20/40/80/160 XXXXXXXX
Any suggestion about DFS/radar detect nightmare ??
Also AC should be able of something like 500Mbps or even more (833Mbps symbol rate is theoretical max, realistically possible is at least 20% less), but on Mikrotik with legacy wireless driver that’s mission impossible, 350Mbps is a decent figure for RB4011.
You could install wifiwave2 driver on RB4011 (optional package for ROS v7) to unleash true AC power on RB4011. However that would mean you loose 2.4GHz radio since chip, running 2.4GHz radio on RB4011, is not supported by wifiwave2 drivers.
DFS/radar detect nightmare is something we’ll have to learn how to live with (on 5GHz band at least, 6GHz WiFi6E could be much better in this regard).
