RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD - RouterOS 6.48.3 - AC wireless preformance [Unsolved]

Hey there !

yes there was gazylion of question about poor 5G performance, so let me ask it again with some more spec:

There was a 4 / 5 diff configs, secound chanell stay on auto for now and its more stable.

Any tips to make it more stable ?

Thx

Yes turn off the wifi and get a real access point.

Try
Band: 5GHz-N/AC
Channel Width: 20/40MHz Ce

hello Anav,

thx for reply, changing to 20/40MHz Ce cut the link speed to fixex 400Mb/s but it was still unstable.

Swap back to 20/40/80mhz-Ceee make a stable UPload at ~65MB/s but DLoad is still crappy an jumping from 15-26MB/s.

Any other clue ?

I recently purchased the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD and can agree with anav to turn off WiFi and get a better AP.

I had very unstable download speeds between 15Mbps-150Mbps whereas my regular was 300Mbps-400Mbps.

In the end having tried many configuration variations I accepted defeat and returned the iGS+5HacQ2HnD version and instead purchased the iGS+RM whilst using my ASUS RT-AC86U as an access point.

well let me open RMA for this. there is so many topics with bad performance in this hmm highend AP / Router.

Thx Guys !

Its an excellent router you just got the wrong model,
you need the RB4011 just wired. Not sure where you heard it was recommended to get the wifi model.
In any case, attaching wifi to a router is IMHO not the smart move, a. because wifi technology changes more rapidly and cannot be upgraded in firmware but more
importantly, one can place wifi where it makes sense and not just where the router has to be…

If you want good wifi5 I have had excellent stability with the TP Link EAP245v3 models.
I am itching to try a newer wifi6 620 or 660 at some point.

Oh please … stop whining and do it already. And don’t forget to throw your beloved 245’s in my direction real hard.

Hahaha, I am waiting to win the lottery.

Isn’t buying lottery ticket a prerequisite for winning the lottery? Are you doing anything about it? Or you rather spend the dime on Canadian rye?

RIght now I just wish the sore arm and achy feeling (second covid dose) would go away. If this is like 1/100 of the real thing, frig dont wish this thing on anybody.

Which one, Pfizer? I opted for Biontech and had only minor (next to none) side effects. It’s been almost 3 weeks since second shot and I’m almost certified to resume normal life

Moderna, maybe you got a placebo :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: or are unable to make anti-bodies…

I’m not sure about antibodies, but I’m sure I’m allergic … to dummies :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you please also post an export of your wireless security profile please ?

Also you may want to try the new RoS 7.1 Beta 6 with wifiwave2 package…https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/WifiWave2

well we can close this. RB4011 will go to market. since 70 days i have Qnap QHora-301W where wifi6 is working fine. there is mega limited options and firmware is poor but all is working fine + 2 10GB ports.

Does it has QoS options? Just noticed Qnap went into networking industry.

not yet … this is not a new product but still is so poor features … simple snmp is missing as well …

As stated would have kept the RB4011 for its router functionality, cannot do much better pound for pound and then use the qnap for wifi only…

Damn, that’s as bad as consumer grade routers BUT at least you get proper WiFi from it.

yee plus 10GB link to the NAS via ethernet is best what they can do
