RB4011iGS+ no communications after reboot

Hello All,

Running 7.3.1 and whenever we reboot the router there are no communications or activity on our 2 local and wan interfaces.
We have to connect directly to the device via ethernet and disable and enable each key interface, and then communications magically works.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks

Anything in log after reboot until interfaces are toggled?

How did it end up running 7.3.1? Did you upgrade it many times via many v7 versions? or has it recently been upgraded to 7.3.1 directly from some 6.x version?
Advice: do a netinstall of 7.3.1 with reset to defaults and configure it again.
Preferably do not use a backup/restore. At most make a backup and export before you netinstall it and keep the export open in a notepad window while you configure it so you do not forget something.
Do not restore the backup unless you absolutely do not know how to reconfigure it in a sensible way.

We had the problem with 7.2.3 as well.
We then on Jun 14th put 7.3.1 which had the same issue.

Ok then do as I wrote above.

It was converted to a lower 7 version from 6.
When you say reconfigure it, are we saying trash the interfaces only, or a whole long start from scratch process?

You need to reset it to defaults and configure it from scratch. Do not load a backup.
Make an export file to use as a GUIDELINE to configure it again (so you do not forget important settings).

Be aware…/export does not show everything, please use /export show-sensitive instead.

Thanks everyone, will have to try that… a little ugly, but makes sense.

Ok, and while you are at it, make sure you do a “netinstall” (without keeping config). A little more work but it is better to that now than to later doubt if it would have been better to do it.
I have done the same thing on my RB4011 after upgrade from v6 to v7 and seeing some strange phenomena. A clean start seems to help.
