RB411/411R Extra LED's ??

I was just looking at the RB411 in the newsletter and I noticed some additional led’s on the lower right of the board.. Since I already see the normal led’s on the board I’m REALLY REALLY hoping those are signal strength lights..

Can someone from Mikrotik please let us know what they are going to be used for..

Thanks!

first led indicates the NAND memory access.
About ohter leds - you will be able to use it for signal strenght of for some other advanced features.
Currently the signal strenght monitoring is not added in the RouterOS yes, but we will make it soon.
If you have some other ideas where to use those leds, you can post the ideas here.

what is “whiteLIGHTNING” near buzzer ?

Is realy idea adding non “blink” mode for this led eg. ON / OFF ? My idea is unsoldering this leds and mount solid state relay, because i need some I/O output…

have you not noticed that all boards have some kind of nickname on them? Triple-Shot, Crossroads, miniRouter, trifecta etc.

Will be a replace and for RB133? Like 411 but with 3xminiPCI?

eventually

It would be nice if you could make some choice for the user to make the leds indicate:

  • signal strenght, or
  • ccq for the wireless link or some other kind of link quality indicator, or
  • % cpu used, or
  • % memory free

The one next to ethernet port you can make stay on or off
:led user-led yes(or no)

Is there a command for the other led’s yet that im missing? noticed led1-5 gives “not implemented yet” msg.

I really don’t see the usefulness of making the lights for signal or much anything else except relay type outputs, I don’t have a single configuration of radio / enclosure that I can aim and operate while looking at the leds.

Can you guys really aim antennas while looking at the leds??

Scott

As soon as they add this I’ll start putting a plexiglass window in the back/bottom of the enclosure antenna’s I’m using so that my installers can see the alignment LED’s..

Is there a way to possibly use some scripts to light up those LEDs for alignment purposes? Signal strength or quality of link? That would be immensely useful for my uses…

yes there is a way.it is described in wiki

have you done the plexiglass installation??
