RB411 client mode?

Hi
i have an RB411 with radio card.

i am just out of reach of a public wifi hotspot. my laptop cant see the hotspot but the RB411 can see it.

could someone please direct me to a step by step guide to set up my router.
i want to hard wire my laptop to the router via ether and then use the RB411 to pick up the weak wifi signal

is this done with client mode or client psuedobridge?

i have tried to follow a few online instructions but with no luck.

please help

set your wireless interface as a station and connect to coorect SSID.

Put a dhcp client at your wlan interface.

Make some subnet at your Ethernet, and put a dhcp servet to it.

Make a nat roule in your firewall.

hi, thanks for the responce
please forgive me but im a total noob at this.

i think i managed to set up the dhcp client and dhcp server
also was able to connect the wlan to the hotspot

just not sure how to do the “Make some subnet at your Ethernet”

also, is the firewall nat crutial at this point, or just for security.
reason for asking is, i would like to keep the confic as simple as pos for now.
once i am connected i can set up the firewall
i would just like to eliminate any possible setup mistakes for now

i dont mind reading up on this myself, but cant seem to find anything on the topic.
can anybody point me in a direction? any direction. im at a dead end here and dont know where els to go for help.

Hello
You need NAT rule to masquerade your local network with regard to network of hotspot.

I think that you also could bridge the wireless interface and ether1 (if that is the interface connected to your laptop).
If you than connect you wireless to the SSID you need, the laptop should be able to get an IP address from the remote wireless device.
