Did Mikrotik change the ethernet jack on the RB411’s?
I just tried to install one in an ARC IES enclosure and the ethernet jack sits too low to plug the cable in thru the POE Jack.
I found an older RB411 and the ethernet jack is slightly taller and the plug fits perfectly, just like the hundreds I’ve done before.
The older ones have black print on them, the newer ones have UDE stamped into them or nothing at all. Just nice and shiny.
As a workaround, I had to put the screws into the front mounts in the ARC and secure the RB411 with the rear mounts only.
The screw heads raise the RB411 up high enough to fit the plug into the jack.
Do you also have a RB411 that does fit? Do they look the same? Send serial numbers from the old and from the new to support, I will check what revision changes there have been
I sent mac addresses to support.
They look the same execpt for the print on the jack and the lights are not wrapped in metal like the older ones.
The newer ones are approx. 1/16 inch shorter than the old ones.
Just enough that they do not line up with the poe feedthru on the enclosure.
It appears that all my newer ones are like this.
Maybe ARC Wireless will need to make an adjustment on their mounts, raising them up a bit.
You should contact the maker of the case for more info. This is quite an old product, it is very likely that during some revision we had to change the connector.
