RB411 MC8705 Issues

Hi,

Im having some issues trying to get an RB411U working with my Sierra card MC8705.

The RB411U appears to detect the card but if i try to access the info i get “modem did not respond” i cant change the data or info channels because it errors and says they dont exist. i have tried 2 differant MC8705 cards and 3 differant RB411U. Am i missing something here or are the MC8705’s faulty?

System > resource > USB shows the Sierra wireless MC8705 but nothing i do will get it going.

Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone able to offer some assistance here? it looks to me like both my modems are dead but id rather not order new ones if its just a config issue.

Would really appreciate some help.

You haven’t actually given a lot to go on.

What are the settings you have?

Heres the settings i have used previously on these setups.

/port
set 1 name=usb2
/interface ppp-client
add apn=telstra.internet data-channel=3 dial-on-demand=no disabled=no \
    info-channel=6 name=ppp-out1 port=usb2

However when i use that now on a blank config i get errors that the channels do not exist. If i leave the channels on on 0 and set my apn it doesnt do anything, doesnt try to connect or anything. If i hit the info button i get an error that the modem did not respond.

You can find the correct data and info channels for the MC8705 with Telstra here http://www.wisp.net.au/mc8705-telstra-mikrotik-setup-n-15.html or here http://shop.duxtel.com.au/article_info.php?articles_id=39
