RB411 + MC8705 - no usb2 port ?

Hi All,

We have ± 100 RB411 and Sierra Wireless MC8705’s in the field and I have noticed this recently on 6 that are not working. The LTE interface shows up under the interfaces list as does the MC8705 under resources as device 1:2 as it does on all our other boards, however, there is no usb2 port for the MC8705 under ports on these 6 hence the reason they are not working.

The log only says lte1 : no response. Trying to open a serial-terminal on the port fails as the port is not even listed.

I have attempted this on 6.37.1 and 6.38.1 as well as downgrading to 6.34 an 5.26 where possible with no effect. I have also reseated the card and done config resets on all of them with no luck.

Would anyone know what might be the issue and what I can try to resolve this ? I have logged a support call and am awaiting feedback.

Did you try setting “ignore-directip-modem”? I thought the MC8705 was 3G and doesn’t support the LTE interface.

I tried disabling directip with no luck - the usb port does still not display.
