Have tried downgrading a RB411L from 5.11 to 5.8 and it seems the board is stuck in a loop and will not boot up. It powers up, has a single beep, then after every minute or so will beep again. Are there any known issues that would prevent this downgrade? Also needing to know if this board can be recovered.

Sounds like you need to netinstall.
Is it possible with 411L? Has 1 ether, no serial, no usb.
wow… took 5 attempts, but the board finally switched to etherboot. First series of boards I’ve ever had this issue.
Also, just a heads up. It appears each and every RB411L I have tried downgrading, I have ended up needing to netinstall and 5.8 will not netinstall. Incompatibility issue with new hardware? 5.17 works fine.

Probably. Why are you trying to downgrade to 5.8 anyway?
seem to have fewer issues overall with 5.8 than any released after.
EDIT: with that said I have recently started working with 5.20. At this time it seems to be working as needed, but 5.8 is my fall back.
