RB411r EOL

I just received notification from Streakwave that the RB411r is being EOL’d. Can anyone comment as to why? It has been a wonderfully inexpensive solution for our close-in links.

Second that. :frowning:

maybe there is a rb750r coming to replace it : ) i know thats indoor, but maybe theres an outdoor coming too. would be nice to not have to buy ubnt radios.

I asked MT sales about two months ago, “when were they going to change the RB411r from UFL to MMCX?”.

We saw that happen to the RB411AR. All the RB411 boards seem to be going to the new PCB layout with MMCX pads.

The new Mikrotik radio cards are all MMCX.

It makes perfect sense to make MMCX the new standard.

My prediction - RB411R-MMCX coming soon.

Or something better

RB411Rn naturally

I wonder what else could be good about a new product of this kind …

A higher power version would be nice.

What about the price ?

Well, I would always welcome something priced lower, but I would prefer a higher powered card included at the same price level than a lower price for the current powered card. An N capable card that also supports A/G in 5/10 Mhz channels would also be nice, but I am not even sure if such a card exists.

Nonetheless, you guys have done a great job of continuing to come out with better, faster and cheaper routerboards, and for that I am very grateful.

well we are working on some new products, and you are going to love them

Gigabit ethernet to take advantage of the 802.11n speed.

Tom

I wanted to think that, but gigabit requires more power so it would have to be higher MHz…thinking more RB711Rn makes more sense and on a path to offer RB750Rn in a future.

I am actually having an issue with the change of the RB411 to mmcx. I am using the boards in a mesh enclosure application. I order boards for my next build run and found a single mmcx antenna connector instead of the 2 u.fl connectors. I add a R52N card hooked to 2 diversity omnis on top for the mesh and then use the on board with diversity to connect clients to the AP via two antennas on the bottom. Now I can only use 1 antenna and have to plug a hole? Thats a problem for me.

If you were going to go to mmcx, why not give us both antennas at least? Are diversity antennas out of style?

So now we need the replacement of 411R, what the model come as something better???
RouterBOARD 711-5Hn-U.fl??? It only 5Ghz!!

Just wait a little more

We are waiting…and waiting…
How long?!
I know - as long as for “N” working correctly?!

Normis - how long is “little more”?!

I can’t comment on unreleased products. You know how it is.

Any updates? Is something still in the works for 2.4GHz?

I would recommend keeping the old stuff up long enough for your customers to not jump ship while waiting on the new.

I like the new 5GHz CPE, but I can only use it in two of my locations for a small portion of my customers.
