I have a pair of RB433 AH that randomly lock up ether1 port. These are being used like PTP bridge so I can log in via wireless and reboot and the port comes on line again.
Both have RouterOS 3.23 and last firmware.
I wrote to support, with supout.rif, no answer yet.
When the lock up, I can see the 433’s from other’s router in the same network segment via ip neighborg but canot ping or macping or telnet or nothing via the ethernet side.
The only solution is to reboot, accessing the router via wireless.
I think this is a very important issue, so if somebody has the solution (including mikrotik support) please talk now!.
I really don’t think it is hardware related. In my case the problem is showing in all RB433 AH in my network, different places, different suppliers, different working time. It is totally random and forcing ethernet to 100Mbps FDX no ANEG seems to help.
pcarrillom: Can you remove RB from tower and test on your table sending data between RB and PC. And make /system reset-configuration before. When ethernet lock up what is both LED status ( one LED is on , other goes off and on or both LEDs blinking or no LED lights at all ) Then check ethernet status over serial cable in /interface ethernet ( connected or not connected, speed is 10Mbit or 100Mbit ) Then try pinging PC from RB I believe that information can help find problem.
i have the RB right here with me and its connected to this pc. The orange light stays on but the green light is off. i can only log into the board by wireless and if i reset RB i cannot enter anymore since i cant use the console null modem cable as well.
