Will the Rb433 fit 1, Xr2 1, CM9 or R52 Or any semi high power 2.4ghz card (backhaul card) and 1 Xr9… The middle card or the #2 card can be whatever it needs to be almost. The backhaul link is less than 1 miles and is CLEAR LOS. with 19 dbi grid… Will these cards all fit before i go and buy the RB 433? Just need a heads up on this

You should be able to get two R52H and one XR9 in there, it’ll be really tight, but I’ve done it with a 333, the 433 looks about the same spacing. I’ll try to check it out this afternoon.
I Would really like to stay with the Xr2 for the extra power it provides. If someone can try this config with there stash and see if it works that would be great… hate to buy something im not going to use.. -Jrodan
So nobody know weather this setup will work or not.. Kind of waiting on someones input on this? I Will get an RB 600 if this setup dosent work but i would rather go with the RB 433 Just not sure about the triple shot taking all of those cards together. Please let me know -Jordan
If the backhaul is only a mile or so, you don’t need a semi high or high powered card.
I’m doing a 3 mile backhaul putting out 2dbm at the radio (5.3 band) doing full speed modulation at all times.
If the heatsink on an XR2 is similar to an XR5, you can’t use it on a 333, 133 or 433 with two other cards, period.
The 433 mini PCI slots are just about identical to the 333, so I’m sure an XR9 would work with two R52H as I mentioned, but there is not enough room for the XR2 or XR5. Have to run a 600 to use the XR2 or XR5 with two other cards.
Exactly thats why i could use a paper thin Mini pci card inbetween and the Xr2 at #1 spot and Xr9 at # 3 spot… But Glen has already said that config will not work… So looks like im going for the RB 600 or an RB 532 with daughterboard. that is unless somebody has a very small 2.4ghz mini pci card to give the other cards the extra room… -Jordan
I have seen boards successfully deployed with 3 xr series cards.
They somewhat fan out, which is better for airflow.
However you do have to bend the clips somewhat to clip the cards into place.
and these boards are triple shots?
I will most likely have #1 slot Xr2 #2 slot Cm9 or really THIN 2.4ghz card. then #3 Xr9. can you confirm this to work Tgrand? this being only on the Rb333/Rb433 Routerboads. Thanks -Jordan

Yea i have been keeping up on that. It was a good board and mini-pci layout design with the daughterboard. But seems like the 433 has taken over. You say that 3 xr cards will fit in there but they fan out. So considering im only using 2 xr cards and a thin middle card (or wherever it fits best) I should be able to get it to work.. but do have a triple shot layout where the cards fan… come on give them some room or change the design… Hope it doesen’t cause heating issues. -Jordan
1-XR2, 2-SR9 work just fine on a RB433. Have it in production with no issues.

Are the heatsinks on the XR2 that much smaller than the XR5?
Its not so much the heatsink as it is the RF shield..
