RB433AH and cisco catalyst 3524 XL

hello,

we have a strange problem, every 20 - 30 hours we can not pass traffic from an interface of a catalyst 3524 switch to a RB433AH. the actual link does not go down, that cat shows line and protocol up but no traffic passes. the problem is only for about 2-3 minutes and then all is fine again without any interaction. the RB433AH does not reboot or show anything in the log . the RB433AH is at peak times passing about 33mbit/s traffic without any problems. does anyone have an idea what might cause the problem ?

PS: we have set the cat to 100 FD and the RB422AH as well. we know the cat’s sometime have issues with autonegotiation.

what does says “show interface FastEther0/x” ?
is there errors or collisions? duplex? speed?

hi enk,

i have very little errors on the switch interfaces where RB433AH are connected, speed is 100 FD. speed and duplex are manually set on both, switch AND RB433AH. if i leave them on auto i have lots of errors clocking up on the catalyst and i have massive packet loss. i can rule out that the cable or the switch port is faulty.
