Hi,
Trying to reset or netinstall a RB433H: shorting the jumper PCB pads doesn’t seem to have any effect on admin password. I tried shorting them from the first beep to the two second ones, wainting even more, to no avail.
Tried setting up netinstall, but I’m afraid the device have the serial console disabled: although I was able to connect serially,
and get local echo working (implying baud rate, etc is set up correctly “electrically”) I don’t get any uBoot menu in my serial terminal.
Any pointers on how to recover this device? Are there any chances? It’s running 3.30
I have done what I should, being Mikrotik a transparent and informative company when it comes to hardware, and check the board documentation. I did already.
Given the primary bootloader settings cannot be changed, and should have “sane” settings, that should be the route…
Options:
- short circuiting reset PCB pads (JP301): this can be disabled and IS disabled
- Software reset 2 button TP2: first option, as resetting BIOS cannot be disabled. But I cannot locate this button!!!
- Software reset S301 button: second option, in theory this will boot the primary (backup) BootLoader whose settings cannot be changed.
I say in theory because located and tried the S301 button, with a serial terminal hooked and set to 115200 8N1, but cannot get nothing more than garbage on the serial console, which I assume is enabled by default in the first BootLoader settings.
Where is TP2??? Is silkscreened in the PCB??
Solved, the software reset 1 button should be pressed from unpowered to at least 20+ seconds after powering up…
