RB433AH with 3 5.8 Cards problem

There is a 433AH with 3 mini-pci cards (2* DBII F50 PRO + 1 * XR5 ) with a voptech POE 24v 2A
the XR5 is connected to a 29.5db kenbotong parabolic antenna, and 2 F50(s) is connected to 23dbi Flat Antennas.
all connected bye LMR400 pigtail cable.

When i turned the routerboard first time, i just enabled the XR5 card’s interface and it works great by scanning and connecting.
But about 10 min later the link failed and there was noting while scanning. i checked the power of card (18dbm-27dbm).

Reset the routerboard and reset the configuration and … but not worked.

I changed all of mini-pci cards with another 3 dbii F50 pro. next time the scanning well done and about half of a day the previous problem occurred again!

What do you think? is here anyone with experiences like this!?!

I don’t think having 3 X radio cards in one board is a good idea as interference will cause a issue,

i checked the power of card (18dbm-27dbm).

was this done with a RF Power meter or just reading from wireless of MT

Have you tried another 433ah

I don’t think having 3 X radio cards in one board is a good idea as interference will cause a issue,

There’s 3 slots that mean 3 Radio cards can support! there’s no problem with other 433AH(s).

The last step is to change the whole of routerboard! remove the problem!

There are numerous posts on the forum about self interference and issues caused by multiple radio cards in one board,
I have a simple policy of 1 board = 1 radio card which to date my network has given me very few issues,

If you have found that in your case this actually causes some problems, use ferrite tape to isolate cards. However, many people use RB433 and most of them are very happy.

Never heard of ferrite tape (apart from the old cassette tapes) as a isolator but ferrite beads or coils - yes
Another consideration when using isolator tape ( I assume copper ) on each radio card is heat build up.

i will get someone up the tower and get down that box tomorrow, thanks normis

I can’t find ferrit tape here in markets normis. is the old video tape rolls good for this? i can buy an old video tape and scrap it. ( which brand is better? sony or panasonic? he he  )

You can consider aluminium heat shielding tape. It ain’t cheap and not as effective as cooper tape, but should help a bit. Either way we’re now using 711 boards in separate shielded or metal enclosures. This “decentralized” setup is not as convenient as everything in one place at the bottom of tower but provides sufficient interference isolation, reduced losses due to shorter cabling and connector count. Also in case one RB fails or has to be brought down for maintenance, it’s only one sector, not 3 at once..

Video tape is magnetic and is not what you need, copper foil is more suitable and needs to be applied around each radio card but as I mentioned heat build-up may become a issue then,

I meant something like this: http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts-kws/ferrite-material

I searched the local markets and no one heard about that but however i replaced the board with new one and it is working about 4 days without problem.
i didn’t pin Mini-PCI s to board only pushed in slots!
when it want to work it will work!
