RB433UAH / RB751U-2HND with USB hub

Hi there,

currently we has RB433UAH and RB751U-2HND.
As the above two products has USB port, is it possible to put USB Hub into it and connect some USB device on it (such as flash disc, usb printer, and usb modem) on the same time ?

if so, can we do printer sharing on the above RBs?
means, from clients print to the printer that connected to (via usb hub) above RBs ?

TIA

Paul

Yes, it’s possible to use USB hub.

No, USB printer is not supported. You can use 3G modem and flash disk.

Will be supported printers for this device? a la Airport devices.

Hi, I am trying to use USB/serial adapter (chipset PL2303) on RB411GL.

Using stand-alone serial adapter I see “USB2” on port window.
I set remote access, then I can correctly access through HyperTerminal (Winsock TCP/IP) to serial device behind routerboardì (I don’t know why, but status of remote access connection “USB2” is “invalid”).

If I use an USB hub, I still see “USB2”, but this time I can’t connect through hyperterminal.

If I try with USB modem MT833UP, it works correctly with or without USB hub…
Any idea?
Thanks.

Yes, it’s a known issue that some serial adapters have problems working with a hub

So it’s a bug with serial adaper? But on supported hardware list, only one available is PL2303 chipset…
Then I’ll try with another serial adapter chipset.
