RB44 and IRQs

Hello,

I am wondering if anybody has managed to get a RB44 running with each Ethernet Port on its own IRQ?
We currently have a pretty hard time getting this Board running with good performance.
Our setup is:
Siemens d2156-s1 Board
512MB RAM
1x RB44
All internal stuff disabled (USB, LPT, all Com Ports, internal NIC, and so on)
INTEL CELERON-64 331 2667MHz
RouterOS 2.9.50

Whatever we tried, one port of the RB44 Board always shares an IRQ with some device (e.g.: Ether3->SmBUS IRQ5) which takes TCP performance to 1,5 Mbps rx (tx 60Mbps)
Even more interesting:
Setting this one up with 3 additonal Intel PWLA8391GT (Desktop Pro/1000), these cards also don’t get each its own IRQ but work without hassle at 60Mbps rx/tx (not the best I know, but a lot faster than the RB44).

We tried a second RB44 with the same results. Even using a twin of this combo (we have 2 100% identical system at customers location for Backup and Standby reasons).
Also we tried turning of AutoNegotiation on all 4 Ports of the Board and link them up to a managed switch to see if it helps, but with the same results.

Has anybody an idea whats the matter with the setup? Or a tested setup where an RB44 performs well on all 4 Ports?

Thanks for your ideas
Markus

BTW: we have deployed quite a lot of these Boards at different places each with 4 NICs (mainly Intel some with low cost Realtek no-name brand). They all work absolutly great. It seems to me like a RB44 problem?!

that’s completely normal and expected. it should not be every port on a different irq ..

Hello,

thanks for the reply.
Is there anything I can do regarding the performance then?
The problem is, that I am getting only 1,5Mb/s tcp rx (upd is up to 90Mb/s) on some of the ports of RB44 when there is traffic on the others.
In morde detail:
Taking it out of production and measuring each port on its own (laptop via crossover, MT BandwithTest Tool) I get 60 Mb/s rx/tx but as soon as it is in production, meaning all ports get traffic (even not very much, just about 1Mb/s), after a while performance on some ports of the RB44 go straight back down to the 1,5Mb/s rx.

Any clue why this might happen?

Thank you again for your time.

Markus
