RB44G and RB1000 ethernet problems

Hello

Currently have a PC based RouterOS v3.20 installation with RB44G cards with Realtek chipsets. Do these Ethernet interfaces have any issues when connected to certain Ethernet devices? We connect to a DS3 to Ethernet media converter from our provider. I’m required to force our RB44G interface to 100 Mbps/full duplex. Even after doing so RouterOS reports the interface is operating at 10 Mbps/half duplex. Our provider reports seeing CRC errors etc… I’ve tried other RB44G cards and all have the same issue. Any interface plugged into our cisco switch does not show the same problem. The onboard Ethernet interface on the motherboard does not have this issue either.

I have a similar problem when connecting a RB1000 to this same device from our provider. In this case the RB1000 is all but unable to communicate over our connection to the provider. Every once and a while a ping will get through.

Any thoughts?

did you disable auto-negotiation?

I have the same problem with RB44G and Telsey Gigabit Media Convertors. Tried every possible combination of Auto Negotiation on/off, fixing interface speed manualy, etc…
Tried both straight-through and crossover cables, no luck. Everything works when traffic is under 100 Mbit, when traffic goes over 100 Mbit, jitter starts to appear and then packet loss, up to 20%.

After I changed PCI card to Linksys Gigabit card (Realtek chipset), everything started working normally. Unfortunately, RB44G cards do not appear to be production grade devices.

Yes, I’ve tried all combinations on the RB44G. Very suprised that with auto disabled and set to 100 Full Duplex I run into problems.

I have similar problems with the interfaces on a RB1000. Anyone experience this?

Thanks
