Hi everyone, seems like a simple 5.2 prob, just rolled back to 4.17 and all probs cleared up. Have an rb450 with an 8/1mb cable net connection, updated to 5.2, dropped to 0.5/1mb, reset back to defaults with 5.2, still the same, rolled back to 4.17, back to flying at 8/1mb…
Any Thoughts? I have over 400 more to update, but not with this problem…
Hey there, I don’t have a fix for you other than like you already said, go back to older firmware version. I also have a RB450g, and have found that firmware 5.0 works great, but if I go to 5.1 or 5.2 I am not able to stream movies, music, or anything that has to do with file transfer. max throughput is dropped to about .8 Megs a second. And like you say I downgrade the firmware to 5.0 and everything is Great.. I have tried this a few times now with 3 RB450g routers and have the same results on all of them.
I can confirm that there is huge performance improvement in 5.3 even compared to 4.17. So do not downgrade, it’s better to wait few days and upgrade to 5.3.
Hello,
we have the same problem with rb450 and RouterOS 5.2. It seems to be the same problem we have had with OpenWRT on Atheros ar71xx based devices (https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/8520). The problem seems to be in the ag71xx ethernet driver and is fixed in the new versions. Can you confirm that it is fixed in 5.3?
P.S. For those with rb450 and RO5.2. Can you please confirm that the download speed depends on the source server latency? (See the OpenWrt ticket for details.)
P.P.S. Is there any way for us to get RO5.3rc for testing?
