I got an RB450 a while back and I finally got around to setting it up as a hotspot controller but “hotspot” and other items are missing from the “IP” options in Winbox. I upgraded the unit to 5.14 but no change. I have no clue what to do. I have done a few RB450s before but have never come across this.
Is ‘hotspot’ package installed and enabled?
If yes, delete folders from Winbox .dll folder (C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Mikrotik\Winbox) and try again.
Do not delete ‘winbox.cfg’ file.
HTH,
Hmm, I am able to see hotspot and such with this winbox when I connect to other RB450s so I guess the packages are not there. How can I get everything installed easily and just start over?
TIA
To see what packages are installed run Winbox, then ‘System/Packages’ menu.
Mentioned folder contains DLLs downloaded by Winbox from router.
Deleting these DLLs forces Winbox to download them again.
For every ROS version and RB model is separated folder.
HTH,
