Guys,
I have an RB450 right now acting as a head end tower NAT Box which is too routing publics via a VPS instance.
It currently has approxmately 120 to 130 devices sitting behind it, maybe alittle more…
Half of which are customers.
I set up a VPS instance to act as a virtual external router so I didn’t have to have the actual OS act as both the private, and public sector. I just don’t want both networks to be seen – the KISS method. (Keep it simple stupid)
The question I have is – after awhile the RB450 went on the fritz – not assigning IP addresses and when loading the mikrotik winbox app to it .. it wouldn’t show any interfaces or allow me to remotely reboot it.
Question is, why is this happening – am I asking to much of the lil guy?
Nothing fancy is happening here..
I have two RB750’s and am thinking to replace the RB450 with two of the 750’s …
Please help shed some light on this … I do appreciate it and I’m curious what other people are running into…
Watching stats … plenty of ram … cpu is good … just don’t know whats causing this to happen. I do have the DHCP lease renewing at 10 minutes – but this is intentional …
