RB450 vs RB750

Hi guys.

I know this has been brought up before. But we just got our first bunch of RB750 and i have some questions.
Has anyone of you any data of real life experiences of RB750 vs a RB450 ?

I know all the different quality, rb750 has a switch chip, it doesn’t have a serial port,RB450 has level 5 etc, reasons but i would like to know if there is a real felt difference of pps passing on each one?

Many thanks and excuse me for being lazy and not testing everything myself, but this time i’m a little bit in a hurry.

Everyone just got their first Rb750, they are only shipping for a few days, so you will not get any real life tests yet. I can tell you that the throughput is very good, and that the major differences you already found.

Well, do all rb450 come with level5 ?
I purchased one few weeks ago, and got level4…

yes, your free Level5 can be obtained via the “upgrade key” button in winbox license menu. This is because not all resellers have the latest stock

You must install a version higher than 3.24 and than in the license section in winbox pres “update key”.

Thanks Normis for the answer about the difference of the 2 rbs.

I have 3.22 installed, it says that it is upgradable to v4.x.
When I try to upgrade, it says "not enough prepaid keys…

Sorry for hijacking the thread..

the RB750 has a switch chip on it the rb450 doesnt, and also use another processor… AR9240

If the RB450 has no switch chip then how do you slave RB450 ports to another through hardware? (Because it works.)

Tom

Thank you.
RB450 upgraded fine to level5

I tried a RB750 on a VDSL50 line (Germany) with some NAT and firewall rules.
I could get 48 Mbits throughput and 50-70% CPU load with a few hundred Torrents…
