RB450G CPU false CPU frequency problem

hello

My customer claims that his routerboard RB450G shows 300mhz cpu freq in system/resourses menu.. and send me winbox screen shots
Безымянный.JPG
and also supout.rif file:
supout.rar (197 KB)
I also chacked my rb1100 router and also it shows the same result. half of its actual cpu frequency 733mhz.

Can someone explain what is the problem ? Is it really a problem?

thanks ahead

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

/system routerboard settings
set cpu-frequency=680MHz

then reboot.

HTH,

ditonet

thanks for the answer, i new about this option, but why this RB450G shows half of its real frequency?

I sew another rb450g and system /resources shows cpu 680mhz.

my customer thinks that using this option is overclocking the routerboard, so tommorow he’ll bring this rb459g back.

If someone has offiacial explanation of why routerboards are working in half of their real CPU frequency please give the link, to show my customer that changing CPU frequency doesnt means overclocking and its legal option.

thanks

I don’t know why this RB450G worked on 300MHz.

to show my customer that changing CPU frequency doesnt means overclocking and its legal option

Just send this link to your customer:
http://routerboard.com/RB450G
This clearly shows that 680MHz is standard CPU frequency of this RB.

HTH,

ok.thanks

But i dont think if that helps, i’ll probably change the board..

router board CPU frequency can be set manually, i’m sure your RB too.

see this my RB750.

yogii

where is this option in winbox menu?

system/routerboard/settings?

ok.. i found it in ros v.5.4 system/routerboard/bios and there are two options cpu mode regular and power saver.

i’ll try to switch in cpu regular mode on rb450g.

 ROS not identify RB450G, i guess that menus for x86 cpu. maybe ROS identify RB450G as x86 cpu, not possible.

what ROS version before upgraded v 5.4? and is there same problem?

it is from x86 , not from that rb450g.. tommorow i ll try to switch to regular mode

Done… change frequency from system/routerboard/settings menu… works good
