RB450G - How to reset to defaults?!

I have an RB450 which I’ve reset on several occasions, never an issue.

Today I tried to reset an RB450G and can’t seem to manage to make it cooperate. When I press the reset button in and then power it up the green and blue lights come on but never go out, and the unit never issues DHCP or lets me access it via an IP address.

If I reboot once more the green light doesn’t come on, only the blue… but I still can’t access it.

Any pointers?

Use the console cable to gain access. You can issue “/system reset-configuration” from the CLI.

Except that when I try the console cable I get garbage characters on my screen.. have verified 8-N-1 as my settings.

Have you verified baud rate too?
