RB450G License Upgrade

Hi,

I recently bought a new RB450G, which initially had RouterOS v3.25 installed and a Level3 license with the new XXXX-XXXX key. This purchase included a free update to L5 from MikroTik.

While running v3.25, Winbox could not update the license (said it was already up to date), but after installing v4.10 yesterday was able to successfully update the license to L5.

Now I’m a bit confused. The license level page on the Wiki indicates that L5 licenses support RouterOS upgrades from initial-version + 2, or up to v5.x. My license info in Winbox shows upgrades only through v4.x. Which is correct?

Right now be happy to get all v4.x releases. When 5.x is released MikroTik will probably let us install that onto the RouterBOARDs too. Don’t worry.

Since I had trouble with the documented license upgrade procedure, was just trying to confirm that having upgrades through v4.x is normal for the free L5 license upgrade on a RB450G.

Can someone with a RB450G please confirm?

Like written elsewhere - ALL RouterOS installations that can work with v3, are entitled to free upgrade to v4
