RB450g PPTP VPN problem, cant establish a connection, no NAT

Hi,

Im trying to get a PPTP server established but I am unable to correctly set it up.

Ive followed the Mikrotik http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/PPTP#PPTP_Server guide to the letter. No luck.

I can connect using my laptop to another users VPN from #routerboard (Thanks Chaos for your help)

I have a network of public ip’s x.x.x.161/28

My routers wan IP is x.x.x.63, its local address is x.x.x.161

Id like the VPN to provide an ip to my clients from one of the public addresses (163-174).

Maybe the fact that Im not using NAT is causing my issues because standard setups don’t work (at least the one shown on the Mikrotik wiki).

Any help would surely be appreciated here - Ive tried everything so listing what Ive done here would prove futile.

Id be quite happy to give access to whoever wants to help me get this sorted.

Im only posting as a last resort

Cheers,
Tom

Problem sorted although Im not exactly sure what the issue was.

To fix the problem I did a full reset, removed the inital configuration, kept the renaming of ports but everything else was reverted.

My best guess is that some corruption or wierdness was in place while I was setting up the box because my setup is extremely simple and there is very little in the way of configuration to actually go wrong. I didn’t get past the authentication stage, it just stuck there waiting.

I hope this is of use to someone, Ill try to help anyone who might be suffering from the same problem is you reply here

Just to be clear Ill list my config here when I get some time to go over the setup script I made.

twokay
