Rb500 an OSbridge 24XLGi v.2 performance problems

hy @ all

does everyone have os bridge 24XLGi v.2 on rb500 running ?
we have problems with this combination
if there is a little bit traffic load ( about 1mbit down and 500k up) alle wireless clients will have much paket loss - every third paket will be lost.
also the wireless clients will be disconnect for a few seconds.

at the rb500 are about 30 clients with pppoe connected and if one client use for exampel P2P and have about 800 sessions open the wireless traffic on the rb500 will be lost or have much paket loss

have anybody a idea to to help me ?

thanks

Set hardware retries to 7

oki
thanks
i will test it and let you know ..

thx

hy

i have changed to 7
yesterday the rb532 will be damaged … now i have a rb600 on this place with same configuration (os 3.7)
it is better then with 15 retiers but not the best …
there are 30 clients on ap bridge mode (2,4Ghz) with pppoe connected the rb600 is the concentrator
we give our clients max 3072/512
the problems are not by much wlan load (max 500kbits up and down ) - i think if many connections and filesharing (p2p) is running by the clients the wlan traffic will be crashed ( see picture smokeping 7 retiers)
the 2nd picture you see is with 15 hardware retiers - !! all clients have this connection like the picture …

i think ( but i am not shure) the problems cames at this time we connect the version 2 of osbridge by our clients
can it be that the os bridge config is wrong – i have set the wlan on the os bridge :
Fragmentation Threshold to 2346
RTS/CTS Threshold 2347
and on rb600 the mtu is default on 1500 …

ore is it possible that the wlan card can not match 30 clients ?
we have the same problem on another ap also rb532 same config and same client hardware.

so this is a really problem for us we also provide voip…

have anybody a idea ???

thx

It’s not an issue of this or that CPE you’re using but CSMA protocol. With p2p you’re getting a lot of packet per second traffic and with 30 users you get a lot of collisions therefore you’re just starting to experience beauty of 802.11b/g CSMA protocol.

See this for explanation: http://aqua.comptek.ru/test/HiddenNode/hidden_node_en.html

You need to either split your users per more than one access point or use some kind of polling protocol (I believe both osbridge and mikrotik offer these as a proprietary extension to 802.11b/g).

ok .. i understand.. that can be the reason…
on the wireless configuration on the mikrotik there is polling enabled but there is also a button disable csma ?
i do not know if the older clients can polling … gemtek T-316 ( easy client )
pdf for t316
http://www.universalnetwork.com.au/pdfs/T-316_DS_EN_V1.0.pdf
lancom L54g and osbridge V1 they have nothing in the config about polling only the new V2 from osbridge have polling client to choose… so i must test …

but do you know - can i make some quality with the frame policy in the mikrotik wlan config ?? i don`t know what this option make !

thx
