I’ve a 1.2 Gbit fiber plan and explicity bought the 5009 to support these needs. The 2.5G port is connected to my fiber modem which also supports 2.5G. Both negotiate at 2.5G but Mikrotik continuesly flaps. Like 5-25 times per day i’m losing my PPPoE connection. Using an 1G port everything is fine.
rb5009 <> Glasfasermodem 2 (Telekom)
I’ve found other threads in here describing similiar problems. Did you guys RMA the device? How do i get support with that. The support / ticket system doesnt seem to be working.
It is up to you if you want to install testing version of ROS. But you could give it a try. If it does not resolve your issue you can downgrade to stable (7.20) again.
Good idea, thanks for the headsup. Gonna check that out! Although i dont think that will have anything to do with the flapping. The problem is, that rb5009 doesnt show link partners advertised speeds above 1G (so 2.5G isnt shown at all). Dunno if thats related.
Thats the interface on the Mikrotik. The problem with 7.20 currently is that the link partners advertised 2.5G is not shown/correctly recognized when you have a link. For testing purposes i ordered new CAT8.1 cables already.
So far nothing has changed anything. I’ve even gone so far that i reset the device to system defaults and it still flaps continuesly.
Since this is error seems to exist since i got the device, can anyone point me to a contact where i can get in touch with Mikrotik to get a replacement unit?
