Please help
I purchased a Brand New RB5009upr+s+IN router. I configure the basic hotspot setting like I did on my RB4011. I noticed that the RB5009 is not generating the NAT rules for hotspot because of that the Mikrotik hotspot web page is not popping up when I connect my router on interface Port selected for hotspot.
Can your please help me with the full configuration I need for my hotspot to work.
My guess, you need a
/system/device-mode update hotspot=yes
and hard power reset. See Device-mode - RouterOS - MikroTik Documentation
Normally there should have been a line in log mentioning exactly this.

I fully agree but let's not forget that when creating a hotspot setup without having device-mode properly configured, you get a nice red line for server with status invalid.
(just tried on L009 to be sure)
That's already a rather glaring indication where you can see there is a problem.
Why continue then and claim it doesn't work ? Of course it doesn't, hotspot server has status invalid !
I'm with you it's not practical then to see why there is an issue, but it is visible.
Having said that ... just tried it as well via CLI / setup.
It lets you go through all the steps, making all kinds of modifications to your setup, at the end simply completing. No error.
But it doesn't work. Server is red for an obvious reason.
So looks like another opportunity for something which can be 'improved'.
To quote myself: just tested and no, it doesn't. Not even after reboot.
JRICH, best to create a support ticket for it so they can update their documentation and/or make a more visible error message so one knows where the problem is.
100%. Recommend you file a ticket to complain and suggest at least better info on device-mode, both in docs, logs, and geez, how about when you try to enable it. MikroTik thinks it's only loud-mouths on forum that complain about it.
The fact device-mode problem was obvious from post title, is how stupid it.
