RB5009 reboots itself each 8-10 days (7.2rc3/rc4)

I have noted that every 8 to 10 days my RB5009 crashes and reboot itself.
in the logs I only see:

mar/10/2022 05:42:49 system, error, critical router was rebooted without proper shutdown
mar/10/2022 05:42:49 system, error, critical kernel failure in previous boot

does anyone have something similar happening?

It may be do to config. Try to set ut to default (basic) config and see if it still reboot.s

Today I have migrated from my hEX S to the RB5009 and after couple hours of usage I got this same error:

kernel failure in previous boot

I am using ROSv7.1.3 Stable

Make a support file and send it to support@mikrotik.com

Shit I just ordered an RB5009 yesterday

I have two and have never had this issue.

Edit: running 7.1.3 because even that’s living on the edge.

check your ram, its exhausting ?
my hap ac 3, ram is exhausting on version 7.1.3 each 7-8 days and reboot itself

Last Saturday, I got another reboot. with less than 2d of uptime, but, for me the max uptime is no more than 8d

Did you try it with basic config? I guess there are some in your config that fails.

Why, the device is a router, and I need it as a router. It is not a lab, I need it working as it is.
Also what is “basic config”? for me, basic is the what I need from it.
As I’m not alone on this, means that is not config.

oh my, even in v7 it still happen.

I thought we was writing in the RC thread. Software that should only be used on routers in lab/test.

It may be a bug or it may be some wrong configured. Posting your config may help to get other to verify your configuration.

Do anyone else having the reboot issues have ospf setup?

I don’t think that is a misconfig, I migrated it from my RB4011, making the changes to match the interfaces on the RB5009. I’m suspecting a bug with OSPF, as it seems to happen after a OVPN client (that is connected via a crappy LTE) goes down or flaps, I’ve disabled OSPF and replaced the routes with static ones.

Now I need to wait to see if it will happen again or not.

My new RB5009 crashed within two days of installation. v7.2RC4 even on v7.1.3 it was same. Opened ticket with Mikrotik support but I have no hope.

What is it doing when not crashing?

Without seeing the config and information what is tried, its hard to help with anything.

So post config. Send supportfile to support@mikrotik.com

Support provide me with v7.99 (some internal version) for testing.

My 5009 crashed every few days, it stopped only after I upgraded all other mikrotiks in the network to >= 7.1 - in my case I believe it was a bug in the capsman or discovery protocol that went away when all systems used 7.x

Now I am sure that the issue was related to OSPF and the OVPN client that is connected via LTE (an unstable one). after I replaced OSPF with static routes, the issue is gone and the router stayed up for ~25d, when I upgraded to 7.2 stable. did not tried OSPF again.
