i just saw that i was having consistent tx drop while performing speed test on my wan that need to use vlan
looking around, i found thread that are about 10 years old that suggested to change the queue type from only-hardware-queue to ethernet-default
switched to that and it look like it work
for your information, i dont use queue so that was an unexpected reason for the drop when i found out
my questions would be, what today solution is best, is that 10 years old solution still the best? what should be the ideal queue type for interface / vlan?
the rb5009 replaced a hap ac2, i dont think the config will help since i had no issue before
I think what is happening (and i read other similar report while searching) is since my internet speed is a little bit faster than 1gig and that my internet come from the 2.5gig, the data come faster than my 1gig port can handle which fill the buffer and packet start to drop
even with 500 queue size, i was having some drop (but way less than the default value) so I reverted to the default factory queue for now
it only happen when i saturated my 1gig port from the 2.5gig
question is, is there something i can do or mikrotik have to fix something?
