RB512 wont upgrade from 2.9.38.

I have a routerboard with 2.9.38 running on it that I am trying to upgrade to 2.9.46. The license is good up to 3.x I transfer the 2.9.46 package to the RB reboot it and it comes back up still running 2.9.38 there is nothing in the log indicating any problems. I have upgraded a bunch of RB’s with this same package with no issues. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks,
Chadd

check the log file, see what was the cause of this

Have you upgraded the BIOS? I have both a RB511 and RB512 and both have upgraded to 2.9.50 with no problems.

OK I am going to post the stupid question of the day…

Did you verify that the transfer method was “bin”…

If the file transfers as text then the router will ignore the file set and remain at the current version and discard the upgrade files..

I have done this more than once (just forgot to set the flag)…

I will double check this but I am pretty sure it is correct. I uploaded the file the same way that I always do. I have a few hundred RB’s out and have never had an issue upgrading one until now.

I have also seen it where the system file did not transfer correctly, and did not install and as a result the rest of the packages failed a dependancy check and didnt install..
