Get this on boot:
/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: 21: cannot create /var/run/utmp: Cannot allocate memory
System halted.
Which means “I don’t work”
Needless to say this is mighty bothersome, as this was a board that was on top of a 100’ tower and I had to retrieve it @ 11:00 pm. 90% of my network traffic of 100+ clients went through this board and it’s been in service barely 3 months. So I’ve no choice but to replace it with whatever I can as fast as I can. But in the meantime , what could cause this catastrophic failure, and is it fixable?..
