Hi,
i’ve got two rb532 which seems to be somehow damaged. When i power up first one, blue led periodically blinks and nothing happens. With second rb comes no blinking, but it gives out sound like a bird. That is when i connect routers to 12V power adapter. If I use 24V adapter and switch jumper settings to high voltage, routers seems to be dead (no sound, no LED blinking). Console says nothing. I tried to change the two capacitors, as i read on routerboard.com forums, but it didnt help.
Does anyone please have some advice which could help to fix this?
The RB532 will not run properly at 24vdc. The low voltage setting is below that. The high voltage setting is above that.
We run our RB532 boards either at 12vdc or 48vdc.
As i wrote in my previous post, serial console doesnt display anything (terminal settings is fine, i tried it with another working routerboard).
bird chirp sound repeats every second, no led is active.
Second routerboard gives no sound, but blue led blinks (and again, no terminal output).
i’ll try it with 48V adapter and see if that works
You can use 18V PSU as well for 12V mode.Check all electrolytic capacitors ( for RB500r5 it’s C169, C163, C128,C133,C136 ) is it both legs soldered properly - lightly move it and check with finger on other PCB side. Else check U22 temperature (carefully touch with finger to IC plastic body) if it’s very hot it’s faulty.
my rb532-r5 doesnt boot anymore, too.
there was a kernel oops on debian when i looked up this morning.
the blue led is on and the device makes no sound and black screen on serial.
the hardware is mounted in a case and the failure started while running.
i have 12volt adapter with right jumper settings and the device was running good for month.
