RB532 to DSL - down to a crawl

I have a RB532 acting as an AP to a remote network connected by ethernet to a Nokia M1122 DSL modem as an Internet gateway. A local PC is also connected to the same (4 x ethernet port) modem.

The modem reports a DSL sync rate of 5920 kbps down and 835 kbps up, which should give us at least 4 Mbps down but in a netspeed test the local PC only hit 2036 kbps down and 700 kbps up while from the wireless network I only scored 777 kbps down and 632 kbps up.

Even the local connection speed seems slow, but was still 3x the speed of the wireless connection. It’s a 17km link at 5GHz using nstream but rx/tx CCQ is around the 75% mark and a bandwidth test comfortably clocked up 10 Mbps down with the upstream speed limited to 850 kbps.

Is there anything I ought to be aware of / be doing in feeding the wireless stream to the DSL modem?
