Hi
I have old good RB523 but with broken ethernet port (PoE one). The problem is that the device do not boot using netinstall (using ports 2 or 3). Booting from CF is also impossible. Is there a way to rescue the router? Or do i have to repair a broken eth port?.
Regards
Why do you need to reinstall?
Yes of course,you can repair it - replace ADM7001 ( U15 ) and possible some diodes (D23,D24 in rev.5 and D6 in old rev. ) 5minutes and RB work like new
)
Have you considered starting a mail-in Routerboard repair service for out-of-warranty products? Just a thought…
MT not provide out-of-warranty repair service anymore. Only if someone is skilled in electronic device repairing and have necessary parts.
Hi aaa,
Actually, that message was meant for YOU. Maybe YOU should start one! Sounds like you have the parts and talent. ![]()
Hi,
Ok thx for advice, i wonder what is the cost of a single part.
Can you also tell me something about Atech ATPL-046ALN? I’ve found no datasheet about this one.
Repair service not bad , but work with new designs is more interesting
