I upgraded one of my towers to a RB532 and an XR2 using a 14db omni (horiz pol) one month ago. After 1 week the tower dropped all of the clients and logged no activity. In the process of replacing the XR2 the clients all came back at the same time. Still I replaced the XR2. 3 weeks passed and the same problem came back. At 1 instant in time the clients disappeared then about 25 minutes later they all came back. Durning the 25 minutes I rebooted the tower 3 times and reloaded the os but had no effect. Everything on the tower is new except the antenna. Both times the system has done this I have gone to the radio interface and had the radio listen for activity and it will show me 25 to 30 802.11b devices and randomly 2 to 3 clients will bounce in and out but can’t do anything for the few seconds that they are connected. Any Ideas?
We were told its the “atheous” card. We were also told if you enable, disable a lot it might come up. Did you upgrade from a prism card? Also we were just told that 2.9.46, and set hardware retries to 7 would work, but so far it did not work for us, we are know waiting on reply.
This tower I upgraded from a staros install. I have 2 other towers running the prisim cards and have never had an issue. I will try your suggestion. If you hear anything please let me know.
They told us hwretries set to 4 might work better than 7 in some cases
