RB532A is not good at MKT ver 3.9 ?

After we hit by lighting storm I bought 10 unit RB532A to replace the broken device at my place.

First I upgrade all the RB532A into ver 3.9 I also upgrade the firmware from 2.12 into 2.14

The result is ok

  1. CPU resource is not always jump into 100
  2. My wireless device ccq is up from 50-60 into 70-80
  3. Signal streght is more powerfull.

That’s why I Upgrade all the device into ver 3.9 with the firmware 2.14

3 days later I found one by one my device is death we can not ping into the device

After i check there is a kernel failure, The OS is gone

I do the netinstall again, 2 days later the same problem again we can not ping the device and the OS is gone

I check the routerboard.com their already got the firmware release 2.15

Is this some kind a bug from 3.9?

Please advise my client is already mad because the connection is always drop

Thanks

  • Power no problem cause the we have UPS for all the radio and our router.
  • Jumper no problem we use 48 v for the adaptor

The installation is using the npk file there is no detail and log the device is can not be ping

Maybe this is the hardware failure or the software failure this is i do not know yet.

I using RB is almost 2 years no meet this strage problem this is the first time I meet problem with my RB

For more information I usually use XR5 or SR5 at my 532 board

Thanks

Not all RB532A is like that, I Upgrade the old one there is no such error like that

The problem is the new one who 1 bought in middle Apr 2008

Regards

Thanks

The problem is how we proff the product is no good.

I try to RMA a few but after they check that is nothing wrong with the device, always back to me the same device

Hi, can you read NAND flash part number? It’s located close with CF holder. For example:
HYNIX
HY27UF081G2M

Are you shure that someone not hack your RB, connect to your RB put wrong *.npk file and reboot.

For Hack I do not think so cause only me know the password and I always change my password once a week, I always give a temporary password and username for my technical support.

I will inform you NAND Flash number later cause right now the RB is Upstair

Thanks

i have the same problem with 2 boards, when i upgrade to 3.10 it stop working unless i install a new software from the serial port, it takes 2 days and stop working again.

normis, where are you ? any suggestions ? why the board stop responding when upgrading to 2.15 ?

try to make a supout.rif file as soon as possible before the router stops working. ie. if it can run for 3 days before it stops working, try to make it after 2 days or later. also please tell me exactly what it says on the NAND chip

before upgrading to 3.10 the board was running without problems on 3.6, i upgrade it to 3.10, still working successfully.
after a week i upgrade the firmware to 2.15 and reboot the board, from that moment the board stop responding and i must try to install the software many times before it install seccessfully.on the other board (also532a) i couldnt install the software yet.i try to reset it from the reset bottom, from the jumper as u say befor without any progress.
i think the problem is not with the latest (3.10) version but with the firmware.

if the software instillation fail again i will try to install WRT using memory card .i have no other choice !!!

Cause the response is so slow I downgrade all into 2.9.51 and there is no problem I have no guts to try it again

That should be the team at support mikrotik test it not us

we had a simmilar problem with a rb532r5 here - the board was running fine on 3.4 until ip upgraded it to 3.10
it startetd to reboot every 10 to 20 minutes - we did a downgrade - same problem still…
as the log showed that the board was rebootet by the watchdog i turned the watchdog of
nice result - the board got stuck and we hat to powercycle it to get it back to live - its up on e high tower…
after that i did a system reset and made the config completley new from scrach and from this time on it is running without any problems
so i think that there is a bug somewhere on updating the configuration on doing a softwareupdate…

I think is either firmware or the mikrotik version 3.10 does not support the driver for RB532A

So what the answer from mikrotik support for this one?

Please upgrade your RouterBOOT version to 2.16:
http://routerboard.com/files/rb-2.16/adm5120-2.16.fwf

lower versions have an issue that cause problems like yours

Have you sure enough? cause we already trauma to try it again

developers just fixed exactly what you have, exactly FOR you

Already upload the file but when I type “system routerboard print”

There is no 2.16
