RB532A isnt booting to RouterOS after Upgrade!

Hello,

I have RB532A with RouterOS 3.22 .. I updated to v3.30 .. updated my license too .. i also checked for any available upgrade for the firmware but i found that i have the latest firmware so i didnt do anything .. I tried to upgrade to Router OS v4.2 then i found that the routerboard isnt booting anymore.

How to repair it ?

what do you see in Serial Console when turning it on?

I have the rc cable but i dont know how to see it cause it’s my first time that i have this prob .. how to check it ?

first, check it work a working routerboard, to make sure you have correct serial console settings.

run Hyper Terminal program if you use windows, with settings 9600 baud rate, and see what’s there .if it works, try it with the RB532

I installed Hyper Terminal but it tells me to dial a number !

I also cant connect using ip address since its not showing .. I only can hear the routerboard when it starts but i cant hear it when the routeros starts .


is there any manual for connecting to routerboard through HyperTerminal?

I tried to test the Hyper Terminal Program and the settings you told me about was its default settings .. seems like it stays connected like i can connect and disconnect anytime whether the routerboard plugged or not plugged .. is it normal ?

Or i have a different cable !


I plugged the cable into the routerboard and i found that the terminal program stays conected forever so there is no need to turn the routerboard off or on .. I used to work on the RC CABLE for updating my satellite receiver and it works .


What do you think the problem might be ?
