I have an RB600 with RB604 and 4 SR71-12 and 2 R52H with 48V and v4.10 installed. The board was running well for a while but, lately I’ve noticed is been restarting itself every once in a while. I checked the logs and see a critical error: System rebooted becuase of kernel failure. I started monitoring it and also noticed in Resouces that the CPU load is between 80% and 100%. I don’t know what might be causing that. I’m not doing any proxy or queues just simple ap bridge with wep key and Mac authentication.
sent the autosupou.rif file to support@mikrotik. I’ll wait for an answer from them. But, if any one in the forum have any idea of what might be causing the problem please share.
What I’m finding weird is the high percentage of cpu load that this board has. Is in the 80%. I have another board installed in another tower with the same cards and the same amount of customers connected and this one is at 14% the most I’ve seen it and it doesnt reboot itself. What’s going on?
You might also make sure the board firmware is also upgraded. I had some problems in the past with some strange firmware issues. Other problems I’ve seen with that error are faulty power supplies and water getting in the ethernet cable.
After many frustrations and tweaking, replacing equipments, climbing up and down the my tower. Yesterday, I finally think I resolved the problem. It was a configuration issue. I have four SR71-12 cards on a RB600A and another RB600A with four Valemount cards. These with the same exact configurations. But, the Ubiquiti cards doesn’t like the configurations I had on them since this board was rebooting every time and the other board never did. Well, I had:
Hw. Protection Mode set to rts cts
Adaptive Noise Immunity set to ap and client mode
This made the router reboot and made the CPU Load go as high as 90% in some cases.
I set both options to none and the router is behaving a lot better now. It has over 36hrs up without reboot.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
Can you explain why setting these options caused that problem with to the Ubiquiti cards?
