RB600A refusing login via winbox

I have a RB600A. Every ~6 hours it start refusing connection via winbox. But I can login via telnet, ftp and http.

In this RB:

  • 3 wireless interfaces using wpa authentication via radius
  • hotspot running on bridge interface (with my 3 wireless interfaces) authenticating users via radius

I notice:

  • [edit] mikrotik version 3.28 [edit]
  • cpu usage is 40% average, but sometimes it’s above 80% (in my graphs) and 100% a few times (~5 seconds) when I’m logged in.
  • memory usage is 70% average, but it’s above 100mb most times (124mb total).
  • 70 hotspot active hotspot simultaneously
  • hotspot bridge interface traffic: 1.1mb average, maximum is 1.7mb

Any ideias?
Is there some way to see what’s consuming cpu and memory?

Just more information:

the configuration on RB600A was import from a mikrotik 3.27 x86.

Today, the problem ocurred when I was logged in mk. And I notice:

1 - CPU usage is 100% about 10 or 5 seconds before the mikrotik disconnect me and refusing connections via winbox.
2 - I login via telnet and command “interface print” show only ethernet intefaces. Wireless and bridge interface was missing.

There’s one more thing. Each of wireless interfaces have one virtual interface for the clients in my old system (no hotspot). The MAC address of the virtual intefaces was the same from the boards on my old x86 mikrotik. After this last interrupt I changed to the same MAC address of the correspondent interface of the RB600A wireless interfaces.

when this happens, connect with telnet again, and make a supout.rif file. Download the file and send to support. We will see what eats the CPU and why the interfaces are missing.

I just had this happen the other day. I have three other RB600As where it does not happen. If you look at your system resources, you will see that the memory is slowly being eaten away. In my case I have a bad block in the memory.

Also noticed that the web proxy cache was enabled, so I disabled it and rebooted, but it still slowly incremented until I set the disk space to be used to none. This stopped the memory issue and I haven’t had a winbox problem since then. This may be your problem in your RB600. Check it out.

On another note, has anyone had luck with the RB600A in getting Lexar 8MB compact flash Premium series to work? When I attach them, it just stops booting and ether3 lights up and the box just sits there and laughs at me.
