I bought an rb711 tot extend my wireless home network.
But it seems i need License level 4 tot make it act as a access point.
Do i need tot upgrade the license , or is there another way of configuring it?
The rb711 is connected by wire to the switch land should provider network access tot my various wireless clients.

As per MikroTik’s policy you can not upgrade License level.
There are no license level upgrades, if you wish to use a different license Level, please purchase the appropriate level. Be very careful when purchasing for the first time, choose the correct option.
Yes, by updating License i meant buying License level 4.
I just want to make sure buying level 4 will work for my situation as i dont want tot make another fast idiot decision.
Please mail to mikrotik support if they allow. But as per policy you can’t.

You will see, that for an AP you need at leaset Level 4.

That means it is not possible to upgrade Level 3 to Level 4.
Yes, i saw that bit of license needed a little too late.
I bought this unit in a flash, not doing enough research.
Anyway, i have removed the license from the unit so i’m at demo license.
I now have it configured as an access point and it seems to be doing fine. So i will buy the level 4 license and add it to the rb711.
